Day 1 - Sunday 17th April - Istanbul
Welcome to Turkey!!' You will be met at the airport and transferred
to your hotel. Tonight, meet your guide and the rest of your group.
Overnight Istanbul. Day 2 - Monday 18th April - Istanbul to Cappadocia
After breakfast, we drive to the nation's capital, Ankara. Visit the
ANZAC and Freedom Museum and the Mausoleum of Turkey's first
President, Ataturk. With Ankara behind us, we head for the surreal
moonscape of Cappadocia. Overnight Cappadocia. Day 3 - Tuesday 19th April - Cappadocia
Today we tour the Goreme and Zelve open-air museums, Pasabag and
Uchisar castle and Derinkuyu subversive city. Photo opportunities
are everywhere so have your cameras ready! Tonight, don't miss the
optional Turkish folklore evening featuring folk and belly dancers …
a night you won't forget! Overnight Cappadocia. Day 4 - Wednesday 20th April - Cappadocia to
Pamukkale Leaving Cappadocia we head south along an ancient silk trail for the
stunning Mediterranean Coast. We stop at the Caravansary at
Sultanhani and the deep blue lake at Obruk. In Turkey's religious
Capital, Konya, we tour the Mevlana Whirling Dervish Museum.
Overnight Pamukkale. Day 5 - Thursday 21st April - Pamukkale to Kusadasi
Visit the calcium terraces of Pamukkale and the ruins of Hierapolis,
an ancient Roman resort city, before arriving at the Aegean coastal
town of Kusadasi. Today we also visit a carpet village and learn how
carpets are made by hand, what determines their value and the
historical and cultural context in which this folk art has blossomed.
Overnight Kusadasi. Day 6 - Friday 22nd April - Ephesus
Stand in awe at the technology once used on a tour of the ruined
ancient city of Ephesus and Selcuk Museum. Also visit the former
Greek village of Sirince, famous for it's fruit wines, before a
leather goods presentation. Turkey produces some of the finest
leather goods in the world and many are made here before branding in
Italy. Overnight Kusadasi. Day 7 - Saturday 23rd April - Kusadasi to Kucukkuyu
Today we head north, toward the Gallipoli battlefields, and enjoy a
guided tour of Pergamum, capital of the ancient Pergamum Kingdom.
Overnight Kucukkuyu.
Day 8 - Sunday 24th April - Kucukkuyu to Gallipoli
Early morning tour of Troy, the ancient site of the famed Trojan
Wars. After Troy, we tour the serene site of the WWI battlefields of
Gallipoli. Visit Lone Pine Australian Memorial and Chunuk Bair New
Zealand Memorial, ANZAC Cove, Johnston's Jolly and the Kaba Tepe Gallipoli Museum. Tonight, before heading to the
site of the ANZAC Dawn Service. Keep warm in your sleeping bag under
the stars with the thousands of others waiting for the sun rise.
Overnight at Dawn Service. Day 9 - Monday 25th April - ANZAC Day at Gallipoli
Awake before sun rise to the ANZAC Dawn Service. We become aware of
the almost deafening silence as we commemorate our fallen
forefathers on this special day. Also attend the Australian &/or New
Zealand Memorial services. After the services we drive back to
Istanbul with powerful memories of commemorating ANZAC Day at
Gallipoli. Overnight Istanbul. Day 10 - Tuesday 26th April - Istanbul
After breakfast we partake in a guided tour of the only city to span
two continents. We visit the Blue Mosque, St. Sophia Museum,
Underground Cistern and Hippodrome before bidding farewell to our new friends. Day 11 Istanbul
Transfer to the airport.
