1. Day: Flight to ADANA
Transfer to hotel. 2. Day: ADANA
Full day trip from Adana via Issus, where
Alexander the Great won over the King Darius,
to Antakya, the ancient Antioch. Antakya is one of the biggest cities in the time of
Jesus and one of the most important
communities of early Christianity, where the
term "Christian" was introduced for the
first time. In Antakya we will visit Saint
Peter's cave and the Mosaic Museum and then drive back to Adana.
3. Day: ADANA / CAPPADOCIA
Trip from Adana to Tarsus, the birthplace of
the peoples Apostle, Saint Paul. After
visiting the fountain of Saint Paul we
continue on to Cappadocia. Here we visit the
underground city of Derinkuyu, where up to
16.000 people, especially Christians, hid from persecution.
4. Day: CAPPADOCIA
Day tour to the moon like landscape of
Cappadocia. We visit the open air museum
Göreme Valley with wonderful cave churches
and Zelve Valley with unique rock pyramids.
There we will climb up the hill of Uchisar
and have a wonderful view of Cappadocia.
After a visit to the Monasteries in the
Ihlara Valley and Cavusin's rock houses.
5. Day: CAPPADOCIA / KONYA
Tour via Aksaray and Sultanhani and on to
Konya, the ancient Ioconicum, which was
visited by Saint Paul the Apostle. Here we
see the Selcuk ruins and a whirling
dervishes monastery, as well as the tomb of
the Mystic Mevlana.
6. Day: KONYA / ANTALYA
Tour through the Taurus mountains to the
Mediterranean coast. Then a visit to
Aspendus, one of the best preserved Roman
theatres and to the ancient town of Perge, one of Saint Paul's preaching stops. We will
continue to Antalya, the arrival port of
Saint Paul and today the center of Turkish tourism.
7. Day: ANTALYA / PAMUKKALE
Trip inland via Tavas to Pamukkale.
Pamukkale means cotton castle and was
created by chalk deposits from the warm
spring water. Here we visit the ancient
Hierapolis ruins and nearby we go to
Laodicea, one of the Seven Churches.
8. Day: PAMUKKALE / KUSADASI
Visits to the Selcuk: The Saint John's
Basilica, the house where Mother Mary should
have died, and the excavations of the city
Ephesus, called the Queen of Ionia and one
of the most important cities.
9. Day: Flight back from KUSADASI
Transfer to the airport.
